About Us

Once upon a time there was a blog called There's No Competition in Law School, written by the Law Bitches.  Head bitch, Calculating, gathered her friends to write a constructive blog about law school.  A "how to," if you will, written by those who had lived it.  Advice from law students on what they would do, differently or the same, if they could do it over.  Namby, who still blogs regularly about his adventures in lawyering at his award-winning site*, The Namby-Pamby, Attorney at Law, was an original contributor.

The Law Bitches graduated and passed the torch to nicolle, Useless Dicta, and Butterflyfish.  nicolle still blogs at the last refuge of the persecuted crack smoker.  While she's still a law junkie, she has switched careers.  Her blog is a fascinating mix of music, pop culture, geekery, law and hilarity.  Useless Dicta landed her dream job as a prosecutor and continued to blog until her untimely death.**  Butterflyfish landed a terrific job, but it is of the kind that one only gets for a term (ahem) and therefore blogs a bit about law and a bit more about working in the law as a mommy and pregnant lady.

Occasionally, we get gust posts by other bloggers of note, usually cross-posted from their own blogs.  See posts by Dennis Jansen, idwsj, and Nobody.  And in one epic post, we got contributions from nearly every woman blogger I know who had a baby in law school, or did law school with kids.

We're always open to fresh talent and guest posts.  Probably best to just email ilovebutterflyfish at yahoo dot com  if you're interested.

Also, I heard a rumor that Calculating may be contributing again sometime soon...
